On Tuesday, August 22nd, 2007 the girls from the Nelle Smith Residence For Girls, a program of Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS), which is one of Florida's oldest private nonprofit organizations providing services to children and families, showed great excitement in front of their home in Palm Beach Gardens to thank Gordon & Doner for helping purchase their school supplies for the upcoming school year. Chalonda Smith, Director, explained, “…education is a key component for the success of the residents here at Nelle Smith; we are grateful for the support of Gordon & Doner in providing school supplies to the young ladies here. It's individuals like you that makes our program a success.”
Nelle Smith House provides residential care and support for girl’s ages 13-18 that need long-term care due to a history of abuse and/or lack of an appropriate family setting. Services prepare girls for independent living and help them mature into adulthood with skills to attain self-sufficiency and a productive future.
