The law firm of Gordon & Doner raised more than $5,500 for the American Heart Association by participating in this year’s inaugural “Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run,” held on September 26 in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida.
More than 37 participants from Gordon & Doner, including attorneys, staff, friends and family, competed in the event. The race encourages participants to strengthen their own hearts through physical activity while also supporting the mission of the American Heart Association.
Since 1924, the American Heart Association has helped protect people of all ages and ethnicities from the ravages of heart diseases and stroke by investing in research, professional and public education, advocacy and community service programs.
In Palm Beach County, the American Heart Association is active in 150 schools to teach children about the importance of physical activity and healthy eating. The association also works with professional associations and employers in the region.
The Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run was held in coordination with the annual “Start! Heart Walk,” which supports the American Heart Association's mission by encouraging people and families to walk regularly. According to the American Heart Association, walking as little as 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of heart disease.
The law firm of Gordon & Doner has actively served the community for more than 16 years. The firm's practice areas include Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Abuse, Defective Products, Business Litigation and Workers’ Compensation.
