The law firm of Gordon & Doner donated over 150 pounds of freshly caught king fish to the St. George Center, a food bank run by the St. George's Episcopal Church, on Saturday following a fishing tournament in Jupiter. The donation will help serve over 250 homeless in the Riviera Beach area for dinner on Friday June 5 th .
“We were extremely happy with our catch, but even more satisfied knowing that the fish would feed over 200 homeless people,” said Maaz Quraishi, attorney with Gordon & Doner. “It's great to see facilities like the St. George Center set up to serve the homeless members of our community.”
The Gordon & Doner fishing team took second place at the 9 th Annual Palm Beach Justice Association Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 30 th . The team's prize-winning 35 pound king fish was included in the donation to the food bank.
Proceeds from the annual tournament were donated to the Palm Beach County Fishing Foundation's annual “Kids' Fishing Day Program” providing hundreds of underprivileged children with the chance to experience saltwater fishing and learn about marine education.
"It was a great day of fishing with other local firms and we were glad to help out a good cause," said Adam Werner, attorney with Gordon & Doner.
The fishing team consisted of Maaz Quraishi, Adam Werner, Willie Hollander, Chris Agardy, and Marsad Quraishi.
