A multistate outbreak of listeriosis linked to Rocky Ford cantaloupes has caused at least 13 deaths and 72 people to fall ill across 17 states as of September 27, 2011, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Jensen Farms in Holly, Colorado is voluntarily recalling all cantaloupes shipped between July 29, 2011 and September 10, 2011 in light of this outbreak. Only whole Rocky Ford cantaloupes shipped by Jensen Farms have been contaminated with listeria.
