In unlikely series of events, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported that a hog was to blame for the multiple vehicle collision this past Saturday night. According to reports from the FHP, the accident took place near the Collier and Hendry County Lines at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the hog was in the middle of the road. As Gabriela Resendiz, a 24-year-old resident of Stuart traveled past this area she was struck by the hog while heading southbound on State Road 29.

Following the collision with the hog, two cars which were heading northbound hit with Resendizs vehicle. The FHP reported no deaths following their arrival at the scene of the crash. However, at least nine of the passengers involved in the auto accident were sent to the hospital for further medical treatment.
