Pharmaceutical giant, Merck & Co, Inc., recalled a batch of vaccines for rubella, measles and mumps after it accidentally shipped the vaccine to U.S. customers before it was internally approved for market release.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on its website that an investigation conducted by Merck concluded that there were no product safety, efficacy or quality concerns associated with the batch.
Merck contact customers directly to provide instructions on how to return the unapproved product and stated that there would be no impact to the supply of the vaccine.
