Last week, Daren Cicchillo a Lake Worth resident was arrested for assaulting another driver in a road rage attack. The incident took place on March 29, when Jeffrey Adams was driving down Palmetto Park Road and had to suddenly slam his brakes in heavy traffic. Cicchillo was driving behind Adams and veered his Jaguar to avoid hitting Adams. Adams claims that he laughed and then flipped off Cicchillo. Thats when Cicchillo stopped his car and go out and the preceded to spit on Adams through the open passenger window. Cicchillo then walked over to the drivers side and Adams got out of his Ford Taurus. Adams says that Cicchillo began choking him and digging his fingers into his eyes. Adams began to punch his attacker. The Sun Sentinel reports that witnesses got out of their vehicles and tried to break up the fight.
Cicchillo then ran to his car and removed a bat from the trunk. He began to smash the Tauruss mirrors and then hit Adams with the bat. Adams finally took the bat away from Cicchillo and began hitting him with it. Cicchillo eventually broke free and drove off. Before Cicchillo could drive off, Adams has taken prescription bottles and laptop from Cicchillos car.
The police used these items to identify Cicchillo. When the police called Cicchillo about the incident, he says that Adams initiated the attack. However, witnesses backed up Adams claims. The police arrested Cicchillo for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief.
