Miami Dolphins well known defensive end, Cameron Wake, will likely be sitting out of practice for the next few days following a car accident. On Monday, Wake was traveling through an intersection of South Nob Hill Road and Torchwood Avenue in Plantation when he hit a car heading the opposite direction.
According to police reports, Wakes BMW slammed into the driver of a Lexus, 70 year old Wallace Waldman. Waldman was making a left through the intersection; however, Wade had the right-of-way. Waldman was cited for violating Wakes right-of-way, yet alcohol was not involved in the accident.
Waldman was taken to the hospital following the accident to treat minor injuries; Wade did not suffer any injury. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. In addition, the air bags in both of the cars deployed. Wades BMW and Waldmans Lexus both ended up being totaled.
While Wade did not participate in Tuesdays practice, he hopes to be back on the field soon to finish up the preseason healthy. Starters typically only play the first 20 minutes of preseason games; however, Wade may sit out on this Fridays game against the Carolina Panthers to treat any remaining injuries.
