Around 1a.m. a car crashed into the Miami Dade College's Liberty City campus leaving one dead and three more injured. Daytime classes were cancelled at the Miami-Dade College branch and it is unknown whether evening classes will resume.

According to witnesses a silver Lincoln sedan was seen speeding when the car spun out of control and slammed into the college entrance. The car burst into flames and narrowly avoided crashing into two people at a bus stop nearby.

One of the passengers in the vehicle ran off while two others were taken to a local area hospital where one remains in critical condition. One person was killed during the wreck.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash and clean-up crews are working to clear-out the accident scene.

Between 2011 and 2012 more than 908,000 speeding citations were given out throughout the entire state. In 2010 speeding led to more than 3,400 crashes, of which, more than 3% were fatal accidents.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a motor vehicle accident caused by a driver carelessly speeding, the victim may be entitled to compensation for property damage, medical expenses, lost wages, and more.
