Car Crashes into Nursing Home

Authorities have reported to The Miami Herald that an accident occurred around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning in North Miami Beach. In what has become an even more troubling situation, the car crashed into a South Florida nursing home, Watercrest Care Center on 16650 W. Dixie Hwy.

The driver, who has been identified as Enrique Linares, was killed. Reports show signs that Linares was speeding while heading southbound on West Dixie Highway. Linares lost control of his vehicle as her hit a sidewalk curb, propelling the car into the air.

The vehicle crashed into the second floor of Watercrest Care Center, sending four people inside of the nursing home to the hospital. Those who were injured are expected to get better.

Late summer in Miami has gained a reputation for reckless driving, especially in the early morning hours. While traveling in the South Florida area, drivers must be aware of their surroundings and on high alert of potentially harmful drivers on the road.
