On Monday afternoon, a school bus crashed into a semitrailer in St. Lucie County. School bus driver, Albert Hazen was driving home 30 students from Frances K. Sweet Elementary school when the accident occurred. Hazen was driving on Okeechobee Road when he attempted to turn left on to Midway Road. The school bus turned in front of a semitrailer, that was heading east on Okeechobee. The impact from the crash caused the tractor-trailer to overturn and spun the bus around 180 degrees. Nine year-old Aaron Beauchamp was killed in the accident. Four students were flown to local hospitals to receive medical attention. Ten students and the bus driver were taken by ambulance to have their serious injuries treated.
The Palm Beach Post reports that grief counselors will available for the students at the elementary school.
