Walmart shoppers may want to think twice before they grill or cook any purchased beef this coming weekend. According to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service, XL Foods beef has been recalled in a number of stores and supermarkets across the country. From Albertsons to Walmart and Dillons to Kroger stores, to name a few, beef is being taken off the shelves as quickly as possible.
XL Foods beef is contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7. Florida residents are warned that XL Foods beef accounts for more than just ground beef. Purchasers should dispose of any roasts, steaks, or sausage purchased at Walmart. When disposing of the beef, be sure to wash your hands well after touching the product.
E. coli 0157:H7 is a cause of foodborne illness. If you have experienced abdominal cramps, diarrhea, or any type of fever after consuming XL Foods beef products from Walmart, seek medical assistance as soon as possible.
