A hit-and-run motorcycle accident has left 40-year-old Bruce J. Scott with severe injuries and an estimated $2000 in damage to his motorcycle. The accident took place in St. Johns County, and more specifically, Nocatee, a coastal community in Northeast Florida.
While driving east on Preservation Trail at Cross Water Parkway, Scott tried to switch lanes and hit a vehicle thought to be a Honda CRV. Following this collision, Scott noticed that the vehicle did not stop.
Although Scott was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to paramedics, he still suffered from several severe injuries. Florida law does not require bikers to wear a helmet; however, motorcycle accident injuries are greatly curbed when proper gear is worn.
An investigation is pending to determine more information about this hit-and-run motorcycle accident. In the meantime, Scott remains in stable condition.
