Jennifer Quijano, 24, is currently in critical condition and being treated in Broward Health Medical Center. Quijano was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Deerfield Beach native Andrew Paul Piccolo, 31, this past Sunday when the crash occurred around 3:23 a.m., according to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Sgt. Mark Wysocky was at the scene of the accident and stated that neither of the two riders on the motorcycle were wearing helmets. In an unfortunate series of events, the motorcycle struck a barrier wall while entering the ramp to Interstate 95 on Broward Boulevard.
When the motorcycle hit the barrier wall, Quijano was ejected from the bike, flying 15 feet in the air and thrown onto the roadway. The Ft. Lauderdale woman is remains at Broward Health Medical Center as she receives medical care for her severe injuries.
