Women Killed Stopping for Bus

Posted on behalf of Gordon & Doner on Oct 10, 2012 in Auto Accidents

Florida law states that all vehicles on the road must stop when a school bus is stopped to let children on and off. In Century, FL this afternoon, a woman stopped behind a bus letting children off in the inside lane on the road U.S. 29.

Once the woman came to a stop, she was abruptly rear-ended by another vehicle. The woman did not survive the collision. According to Florida Highway Patrol, who aided at the scene of the accident, stated that investigations will now take place in terms of the other driving in the crash.

Sara R. Daw, the accident victim, was from Flomaton, Alabama. Charges are currently pending for the driver of the other vehicle, James Richburg. According to reports, the vehicle rolled upon impact, coming to rest in the same lane in which it had stopped.
