Two Drivers Injured in Jupiter Car Crash

Two drivers were seriously injured in a car crash on the corner of Frederick Small Road and Military Trail in Jupiter around 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2015.
Both victims were transported to St. Marys Medical Center via Trauma Hawk with serious injuries.
According to Jupiter Police, an extrication was required. The front end of a grey SUV was mangled with the window completely smashed out. The other vehicle, a blue sedan, was also heavily damaged on the front-end as well as side passenger door.
Police are still investigating how the accident occurred. Details on the extent of the patients injuries are unknown.
As Jupiter has become a fast-growing city, the number of auto accidents in the area have steadily increased over the years.
Since 2011, the number of auto accidents in Jupiter have increased by 160 percent. In 2013, more than 850 car crashes were reported in the area with more than 11 percent being attributed to drunk drivers.
The citys population has nearly doubled since 1990 and surpassed the number of residents in Palm Beach Gardens.
