Three Commercial Vehicles Collide Closing Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens

Three commercial vehicles were involved in an accident on the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens this morning around 6 a.m. The accident included a cement truck, a U-Haul and another commercial vehicle. All lanes, both northbound and southbound, were closed for hours as a result of the accident.

One person sustained injuries from the crash and the U-Haul did burst into flames as a result from the collision. The individual was taken to a nearby hospital and does not suffer from any life-threatening injuries. All lanes of traffic have now re-opened as the debris has been cleared.

Statistics show that nearly one out of every eight traffic casualties is caused by collisions with commercial vehicles. Of course in this case, all three vehicles happened to be commercial vehicles and resulted in only one non-life threatening injury. Many of these types of crashes are caused by inexperienced drivers, load shifts and driver fatigue.
