Caught on Camera: WPB Police Car Crash

A traffic accident investigation continues following a car accident involving a West Palm Beach police officer and another vehicle.The accident was caught on surveillance video obtained exclusively by local news outlet WPBF 25.

Officials say the officer’s patrol car collided with another vehicle on Southern Boulevard and South Dixie Highway. The auto accident reportedly happened just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

In the video, the officer can be seen waiting at a traffic light, when a Honda Accord cuts into the intersection, causing the two cars to collide.

Both vehicles suffered extensive front-end damage and officials are still investigating who had the right of way, however, there are early reports the police officer has been found at-fault for the car wreck.

Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries. The intersection was closed for about an hour in both directions before both cars were towed away.
