A mother and her two children in a stroller were hit and injured by motor vehicle near a shopping center near Pine Island Road in the 4100 block on Saturday evening.
While authorities do not think that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident, the latest reports have revealed that a four year old child has died from injuries sustained in the accident while the mother, Ms. Natali Munzer Alja’ouni, and her other 8 month year old son were both in a critical but stable condition.
According to Sunrise Police spokesperson Ms. Cindi McCue the driver was not injured in the accident and was co-operating with Police.
A witness to the accident claimed that she saw a black car that had hit a pole in the northbound lane of North Pine Island Road and that next to the vehicle was a woman lying on the grass in an unresponsive manner, while a damaged stroller was nearby.
Police are still trying to determine where the crash actually took place as the investigation continues.
